New Metal Stamped Pieces

I know I probably really need to focus on one particular type of jewelry making, find my "niche"so to speak.  Apparently that is how to make my jewelry making business successful...  But I love changing things up, trying new techniques, etc.  This week I've been making some metal stamped pieces, then adding a heat patina with my micro torch.  Such a fascinating process!

Some of the new pieces in my shop:

I also got out the resin.....

I painted this sand dollar pendant with metal patina, then I added a resin coating:

So ready to go to the beach!!!

Wow, I cannot believe it is a week until Christmas!  Every year goes by faster and faster....it seems like just a few months ago we were spending New Year's Eve in Florida!  Mostly been working on Petoskey stone jewelry, interspersed with some resin and other beaded creations.

More Petoskey Stone Pendants......

As I listen to the tumbler downstairs working on another round of Petoskey stones, I thought I'd post some from my last batch that are making their way into my Etsy shop.

Lots more coming too!

Happy New Year!

And just like that, another year has flown by....

Not much going on in my shop, not feeling very creative so far this year.  Probably because I am still in vacation mode.  We spent a week in Florida over the holidays.  The weather wasn't overly warm, but it was still warmer than the negative temperatures back home!  I collected a lot of seashells, hoping to get some things made with them.

Here's a couple of new things I did get made up, getting ready for Valentine's Day!

Finally Fall - Free Shipping Special

After temperatures being much above average for October, the weather is finally more seasonal.  I went out this last weekend, before it cooled down, and enjoyed the fall colors.  I know most people like the cooler fall weather, but I really enjoyed those 70s and 80s!

New in my shop, pendants made of real maple leaves embedded in resin:

New Rustic Collection

Another new collection in my shop, Rustic Collection.  Jewelry pieces made from stones, beach glass, leather and metal. I have had some of these stones and beach glass in my stash for years!  Don't know why it took me so long to do anything with them!

All of the stones in these particular pieces below are from the Great Lakes.  You can find them in my shop here.

Fused Glass

Got my mini kiln out this weekend, probably haven't used it in over a year?  Did up a couple of batches of pendants, always excited to see how the glass changes after firing.  Here is a before and after pic of some pendants:

Before

After

Here's another after picture, I was kind of disappointed in the results of the top right, I though the top layer of glass would be more clear, you can't see the second layer of glass, which was hearts (like the other one).  Oh well, live and learn!  I need to take better notes!

I added fused decals to the two pink/rose pendants, here is one of them, strung on a necklace of soft pink seed beads, now available in my Etsy shop:

I hope to get the other pendants added to my shop soon.

Birds of a Feather......

So glad that Spring is finally here!  Yesterday was Easter, and it was beautiful day here in Michigan, sunny and almost 70 degrees.

About a month ago, we started putting out bird seed on the back deck, and hung a couple of suet cakes in the trees.  We have had a lot of birds visit us: cardinals, blue jays, mourning doves, starlings, robins, chickadees, juncos, etc., and I've taken a lot of pictures:

All the birds inspired me to try to create some in polymer clay.  So I got out my clay and made a few up, making them into pendants:

Available in my Etsy Shop!  (Well, except for the last one, I kept that one for myself!)
